Second and third string players are just that when it comes to Fresno State's special teams. The Bulldogs don't regulate the scrubs to handle kick and punt teams. Special team's coach John Baxter wants the best players on the field at all times. That is why Fresno State ranks among the best in the country year in and year out.
There is one team nationally known for their special teams, Virginia Tech. Head coach Frank Beamer oversees the Hokie's special teams, himself. He, as well, believes in playing the best possible players on kick and punt teams.
As New Mexico State had enough to worry about with just Fresno State's offense and defense. Fresno State should get at least one special teams score this weekend.
