Return of Robinson

Utah State's best player is local product Kevin Robinson. Robinson is a 2003 graduate of Hoover High School, and former teammate of Fresno State linebacker Ahijah Lane. The 6-0 190 lb sophomore receiver/return man was just named Western Athletic Player of the Week for special teams. He leads the Aggies in scoring with six touchdowns, and last year was named to numerous freshman All-American teams as a return specialist. Saturday will be the first time he will get to play college ball in his hometown.

"It feels good to go back home because I haven't been home since the summer break. I will get to see my parents, my nephew and nieces, and a bunch of other friends so it should be fun," he said.

"It will be my first time playing at the stadium [Bulldog]... I know about 20 players on their team because they recruit a lot of locals. When you are from Fresno and have played against a lot of locals you will know a lot of players on their team."

Pat Hill recruits a lot of local kids, but Robinson was not a main target for the class of 2003. Robinson played cornerback in high school, and only received an offer from Utah State, according to Scout.com.

"They recruited me a little bit but they didn't recruit me too heavily. They went after my friend Ahijah Lane who plays linebacker for them now," Robinson said.

You can not fault Hill too much. The class of 2003 included all-state cornerbacks Clifton Smith and Damon Jenkins. It still would have been nice to see Robinson in Bulldogs red this weekend, instead of Aggie blue.
