The "Dome"

Fresno State will make their second appearance ever inside a dome stadium this Saturday at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. The first time the 'Dogs played indoors was also in the "Dome" back in 1978. Idaho lost that game 41-28. Fresno State beat the Vandals the next year in Fresno, 30-10, but the Vandals still lead the overall series 4-3.

However, the other five games of the series were played when Fresno State was still in the NCAA College Division, today's equivalent of Division II.

Idaho is expecting a sellout at the 16,000 seat "Dome". The record crowd is 17, 600, set back in 1989 against Boise State.

Fresno State is the first nationally ranked DI-A team to play in the Kibbie Dome's 30 year history. May be a new record crowd will see the Vandals lose their first ever game at the "Dome" against a ranked opponent.

KIBBIE DOME

The Kibbie ASUI Dome was completed in the fall of 1975. It is the only domed stadium in the Western Athletic Conference. The Dome seats 16,000 for football. During the winter, it is converted into the Cowan Spectrum – an arena within an arena – is home to Vandal men's and women's basketball. Vandal track and field athletes also train and compete in the Dome during winter months.

Too bad the game can not be played on the practice field, it's much nicer but only 75 yards long.
