'Dogs Win on the Island, 27-13

BOXSCORE

It did look good until Tyrone Culver knocked down a 4th down pass at the goal line with under 3 minutes to play in the game. The defense and special teams came through once again, but the player of the game was Wendell Mathis.

Pat Hill gets his first win at Hawaii, and Fresno State matches their best start in his tenure at 6-1. Fresno State is 4-0 in the Western Athletic Conference play for the first time ever.

Fresno struck first with a 58 yard pass to Jermaine Jamison, and never trailed in the game. Hawaii was able to move the ball up and down the field, but only scored one touchdown and two field goals.

Hawaii incompleted a pass on a fake field goal on its first drive, and had another kick blocked just before halftime.

Hawaii's biggest accomplishment of the day was a 14 yard punt return, the longest against Fresno State in two years.
