According to Canesport.com, Chris Lewis was given his release today, and he said he is going to Fresno State.
Lewis arrived at Miami, in late June, and enrolled in the second summer session. His transfer is somewhat of a surprise for Miami, as head coach Larry Coker mentioned Lewis by name early this week in a press conference.
Lewis told the Fresno Bee that he was likely going to give up his redshirt year to play as a true freshman. However, some say he was expected to redshirt his first year at Miami.
What helps the entire situation is the Miami program has a good relationship Pat Hill. Not too mention, the 'Canes new offensive coordinator, Rich Olsen, is a former Bulldog assistant and coached at Fresno State the same time Hill did (84-89) when he was an assistant.
