David Carr's Jersey will be Retired.......

Number 8 will be retired Tuesday night prior to the home game with Toledo. David Carr led the nation in passing yards and touchdowns in 2001. He also won the Johnny Unitas, Sammy Baugh, and Pop Warner Trophies. He will join former quarterbacks Trent Dilfer, Kevin Sweeney, receiver Henry Ellard, kicker Vince Petrucci, and running back Dale Messer as the only Bulldogs to have had their number retired.

Carr is deserving of getting his jersey retired, but one has to think the program is just getting started, there will many more great players deserving of number retirement in the future. In my humble opinion the University needs to put a moratorium on jersery retirement for the next 15-20 years.
