Clifton Smith will miss the rest of the season with a torn knee ligament. Fresno State lost running back DeWayne Wright last year to a similar injury, and he is still recovering this year. If there was a position Fresno State could afford an injury it was running back, but Smith was a special player. His presence will be missed on offense, and especially special teams.
