Stuart is the mystery recruit and the gem of the bunch.

Michael Stuart, Defensive End, 6-4, 245, Westlake, Calif. (Moorpark College) A defensive standout at Moorpark College joins the Bulldogs for his sophomore season ... lined up all over the field for Moorpark, playing on both sides of the ball ... returned a fumble 43-yards for a touchdown against Long Beach City College ... a highly-touted recruit out of high school, redshirted in 2004 for USC ... named as an All-CIF Southern Section first-team member and was the all-CIF Division IV Offensive Player of the Year ... he had 75 receptions for 1,279 yards (17.1 avg.) with 18 TDs on offense and 95 tackles, 13 sacks and 4 forced fumbles on defense as a senior wide receiver and defensive lineman ... he also played basketball at Westlake High School ... coached by Jim Bittner at Moorpark ... "Mike is a very outstanding defensive lineman. He has great quickness and speed. I think that he should help Fresno State immediately in terms of a pass rush. He's definitely an impact player." Hill on Stuart: "Could be a big part of the 2006 defensive line. He's an outstanding player who signed with USC out if high school in 2004. We feel fortunate to have an outstanding player and young man like Mike in our program."

I saw Stuart play against Hart HS and he was a stud. That game featured 3 future Bulldogs, Stuart for Westlake, Sean Norton and Kevin Ciccone from Hart. The game is often replayed on FCS as a high school classic from the Fall of 2003.

So MDG where does this leave us with respect to shoring up our problem areas? I am good with figuring out who we can beat and who we can't but I am not good at analyzing these players. Our defense needed run help, did we get enough? We need a qb to step up, do we have him? Our rb position could be in trouble, did we fix that? God only knows that Riley needs help at LB back, did he get it? With Marshall departing did we get anyone who can step in and take his place? i already know our offensive line is solid, how is the d-line looking wht McKintyre leaving? Thanks for the info, just needed a few answers

Stuart will play immediately at DE. His a big fast DE, that will battle Miller, Jason Roberts, Clutss and Brisco for starting time.

The linebackers Hill recruited are Pac 10 recruits all the way. Herron was first team all state will probably be moved to DE, and the kid is a very fast MLB.

Schenck, IMO, is the best of the bunch. He is big and fast and the future MLB after Andrews departs. He is bigger and faster than Andrews, and if he didn't play on a 1-10 team he would have been a 4 star Pac 10 guy.

Jacobs was 1st Nevada all-state. He is a legit 6-3. He playes DE but will be an OLB at Fresno State. As the two above he is a burner for a LB.

Smith is a track star! He might greyshirt then redshirt but will be the guy to take over run stopper Marcus Riley. He is a little bigger than Riley and as I mentioned a track star, hurdler 2nd in the state at 210lbs.

Belle will need a couple of years to develope but Hill sees him as a James Sanders type. Big hitter, has quickest but lacks pure speed.

Roberts was another all-state player that will be the future nose guard. He was overshadowed by 4 star teammate Levirt Griffith, but Roberts was the heart of that Modesto defense.

Damion Owens is a CB that could play as a true freshman. Jefferson is a big strong corner that will need a year or two to develope.

more info will come later... but Hill's best class ever by far

Miller will play as a true if Wright or Smith are not 100%. He could be out Dorsey for the 3rd spot on the depth chart. He is that good. Went completely under the radar because he spent his first 3 years at Rialto High before rushing for over 2,000 yard at Kaiser.
