"Bad Dawg": Logan Mankins
On the New England Patriots website, there is a Q and A with former Fresno State Bulldog All-American Logan Mankins. Logan was the stereotypical country boy growing up on a cattle ranch in the foothills of the San Joaquin Valley, but the big city life of New England has not changed him one bit. The former 220 lb walk on tight end has become a starting guard for one of the best franchises in the NFL. Here is just a sample of his down to earth, good ol' boy mentality:What is your favorite material possession? That's a tough one. Probably my belt buckle from the biggest roping event that I won. They give it out to the first place team. I won it when I was 16 years old.
Mankins is just another example of how an unknown high school talent can become a millionaire playing the game of football with the right coaching.
