Elite 11 Introduces New Carr for '09

Fresno State is recruiting a quarterback for 2008 but 2009 has to be on the coaches minds, especially with David Carr's little brother lighting it up in Texas. He had his moments Friday night at the Elite 11 Regional Camp in Berkeley but Class of 2008 Clovis West QB Beau Sweeney really stood out, getting three offers that night. Read more on Sweeney's offers at BarkBoard.com...

Another stud for 2008 is Edison QB Jerry Davis. He was just as impressive if not more Friday and Saturday, check out some video from the Stanford Nike Camp at BarkBoard.com...

Is Derek as good as his brother was out of high school and how many stars was David on scout and rivals?

David was under the radar per se, the star system was relatively unknown when Carr was a senior, let alone a sophomore, like Derek...

David did have offers from Washington and Purdue and was considered a top 100 QB in the nation...so that would probably be a 2 star in today's ratings maybe a 3...

Derek is probably better than David is at the same stage of their careers, remember David did not break out, per se, until midway through this junior year of college...

sorry to bum you guys out but derek is awful.. i live in houston and have watched him play he is maybe 5'10'' and skinny... i don't think derek would have started for clements if it wasn't for david being the starting qb for the texans

Derek has two years to grow and get better before he signs, and like I said David wasn't ready until his fourth year out of HS and he became a No. 1 pick...Derek has six years until that point
